Who comes to therapy?
More and more people are finding that talking confidentially to an experienced, fully qualified and registered therapist like me can help them in the present, by managing and finding a way through difficulties, and in the future by having developed insight into own process and patterns and relationships.
I have many years of experience working with couples, families and adolescents in the NHS, Relate, local authority and private practice. I would be pleased to discuss your needs with you. Do send an email or call me if you're looking for help during a difficult time.
What is couple and family therapy?
Systemic psychotherapy is an evidence-based approach recommended for a variety of different issues. It is recommended in NICE guidelines and used in the NHS. I offer a confidential space in comfortable rooms which are part of a psychotherapy practice.
Deciding to start therapy is an important step which can lead to new ways of thinking, feeling, and communicating in relation to others. This leads to breaking of negative habitual patterns and better communication. In systemic work we believe that problems in a family or couple impact on everyone and solutions can be found within the family.
I work with the present (presenting difficulties/values/ beliefs/what is working), the past (history of relationships) and the future (desired outcomes/hopes).
